The album is named after the street in which the artist was born, and the cover art was designed by Andy Warhol. "Menlove Ave. " is composed, in its first part, of songs excluded from the Rock 'n' Roll recording sessions, produced with Phil Spector in mid-1973. The second part includes rehearsals recorded in mid-1974 for the album Walls and Bridges. Yoko Ono created this posthumous record of John Lennon in 1986.
