In April 1979, Jean-Michel Basquiat et Michael Holman meet for the first time at "The Canal Zone" party, and decide to start a band together. Gradually, they invite various artists from Downtown to join the group; first of all Shannon Dawsonthen Wayne Cliffordthen Nick Taylor and finally Vincent Gallo. In 1981, Basquiat name their group, Gray and Gray's Anatomy. The result is one of the most emblematic but also the most confidential projects of the early eighties. Close to avant-garde music, the melodies of Gray confuse.
